March 25, 2020 - 12:30 p.m.
Clarke Electric Cooperative continues to take steps to keep employees, members and communities as safe as possible during this unprecedented time of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The office remains closed at this time. We ask that you continue to interact with the cooperative by using the payment drop box and using our on-line services such as SmartHub and Veri-phone. A small team of employees continue to work normal business hours answering the phones. Employees that are able, are encouraged to work remotely. Our linemen are working on individual task lists in each of the substation areas to improve reliability. They remain on call and will be working as necessary to keep the power flowing to your homes and businesses. We have a business continuity plan in place and continue to monitor our practices and procedures as the COVID-19 situation evolves. We will continue to communicate with our members through our website and our newly launched Facebook page. Thank you for helping us keep you and our employees as safe as possible.
Effective Immediately, Clarke Electric will temporarily suspend late fees and service disconnections for non-payment until May 31, 2020. We do encourage members to try to keep their accounts in good status; however, if you find yourself facing difficulties, we encourage you to contact CEC to see what paymnet options are available to you. We understand the importance of electrical service, especially during these uncertain times. This is one way we can help you, our members. The Iowa Utilities Board extended the winter moratorium date to May 30th. If you know you will be experiencing difficulties paying your electric bill, please contact us to set up arrangements. We will keep you informed on procedural and or mandated changes that take place during this difficult time.

Clarke Solar Farm Production
Watch the production of one of Iowa's first utility-scale solar farms! This site contains 1,296 solar panels and generates approximately 514,160 kWh of electricity, enough to power up to 515 homes. Clarke Electric Cooperative is partnering with our power provider, Central Iowa Power Cooperative, on the project. Construction and installation work was completed by Azimuth Energy LLC of St. Louis, Mo. We are proud to announce that the Clarke Solar Farm was energized and functioning as of Dec. 16, 2016.
